How a water job usually goes

Every loss is a little different, but the steps stay the same.

  1. Stop the source if you can — shut the valve, kill power to a flooded heater, or tell us what is still running.
  2. We extract standing water with truck-mount or portable extractors.
  3. We set air movers and dehumidifiers and open wet carpet, pad, or drywall where the meters say moisture is trapped.
  4. We document moisture readings as the house dries. Equipment stays until the numbers are normal — not until the carpet feels dry under a sock.
  5. We walk the job with you before we pull out so you know what was wet, what was removed, and what is dry.

What to do before we arrive

Shut the water off if it is safe. Keep people and pets off the wet floor. Take a couple of photos for your records. Do not run the heat or air over a soaked carpet hoping that dries it — that usually just pushes moisture into the walls.
