Why a packed dryer vent matters
Lint builds up inside the duct over time. Restricted airflow makes loads take longer, overworks the heating element, and is a known fire risk. Fire-safety groups and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) have long pointed to lint and blocked vents as a leading factor in dryer fires. You do not need a scare story — you need the line open so heat and lint leave the building.

How we clean a dryer vent
We inspect the path from the dryer to the outdoor termination. Then we disconnect at the dryer, run cleaning equipment through the duct, and pull lint and debris out of the line so warm air can move again. Soft or crushed flex behind the dryer gets called out — that is a routing problem, not something a brush fixes by itself. When we finish, we check that the outdoor hood opens and that airflow feels right at the end of the run.
